Quite Great Music Publishing & Synchronisation
Music synchronisation
Quite Great PR is excited to offer sync focussed service that will increase opportunities for music placements in TV, advertisements and film for all artists. If you’re looking for a way to get your music onto the big screen, improve your backend royalties through sync, or want more music usage online, this is the service for you.
What’s included in music synchronisation services?
A marketing campaign to music supervisors
We will create a bespoke marketing campaign for your release and send it to the biggest and best music supervisors, globally. Our mail-outs are incredibly detailed and will include a downloadable link to your music (plus instrumental versions), artwork, video link, soundalike references and important metadata that music supervisors need to licence music for their projects.
Music supervisors are incredibly busy people and are constantly bombarded with unsolicited emails and music submissions, so it’s tough for individuals to get their music noticed. Our team have years of experience working with these professionals and know how to put your music in the right place, at the right time. This is key to being noticed and will drastically improve the chance of your music being placed.
Submission to commercial music libraries
Commercial Music Libraries (CMLs) are online services that house music for the purpose of synchronisation, mainly in TV, advertisements and online usage. Music supervisors, producers and content creators use these services to search for music for their projects. They do so by searching for key terms and information about a piece of music, for example; mood, bpm, vocal style, lyrics, title, timbre etc.
Our team will analyse your music, determining the most appropriate key terms for each of your tracks and submit this information to the CMLs. We have vast experience in doing this and know what keywords to use to get your music noticed.
There are numerous different CMLs that operate in niche areas of the music industry (like music licencing for YouTube and live sports performances), so utilising this part of the service can increase your music’s reach in a variety of audiences.
Bespoke sync advice
If you’re looking for advice on how to make your music more suitable for sync, this part of the service is essential for you. Our team can guide you in composing the perfect hook, writing the perfect lyrics or making use of useful production techniques to make your music pop. Sometimes, it’s the simplest of things that can improve your chances of getting placements, like making sure your social media and streaming platforms are engaging your audience, as it’s often the case that Music Supervisors like to use music from artists that appear to be current and “happening”.
No matter what stage of your musical career you are in or how much sync success you’ve had previously, we can help you maximise your sync potential!
Music publishing
What does a music publisher do?
A publisher has three key roles:
1. Protection
Registering your copyrights with a Publisher means they will be protected against any infringements, deliberate or otherwise.
2. Collection and administration
A publisher administers your works and makes sure all revenues are being collected whether from performance income (radio play, gigs etc), mechanical income (from sales of your music) or synchronisation (usage in film, tv, adverts etc).
3. Exploitation
This is exploitation in the creative sense. Your publisher will want to maximise your (and their) earnings from your catalogue so they will look for ways of generating income such as synchronisation, cover versions etc.
The days of a publisher being out of reach are over. We’ve decided to work with Sentric Music who have turned publishing on its head.
You can now effectively sign yourself up, free of charge, and thus reap the benefits of a publisher as part of your team. There’s a 28-day opt-out clause should you wish to move elsewhere and we think this is unique in the world of Music Publishing.
You will receive a quarterly account with whatever royalty payments you are due. Sentric will keep 20% of the royalties they administer for you. If there is an upfront synchronisation fee they will charge 25% of the gross amount.
