COVID-19 will NEVER take away The Arts!
Have You Made A Paper Mache Animal Head Yet? Lockdown Arts Are The Best!
It’s almost been a year since the UK went into it’s first lockdown, and the one activity that’s keeping people’s spirits high is the Arts. A true positive to come out of lockdown is how it has brought out the creative talents in so many of us, and shown us the Importance of Art! Being creative and getting their hands dirty has proven to be a success for not only people in the UK, but across the whole globe. The Arts have increased in popularity over lockdown, especially in younger adults as it’s something to tame the mind during these turbulent times and actually learn a new skill that you can keep and improve forever — many may have even created a new creative career over lockdown.
How do The Arts Help?
The Arts have always been a sort of distraction for me. A form of escapism that helps me get through the darkest of days. I turn to music as a sort of healer, and many of my close friends are the same. One of my best friends even created a jewellery business during this third UK Lockdown and sales have sky-rocketed because she’s including her original artwork into the memorable pieces.
Something the whole globe can relate to, lockdown’s are tough and if you don’t have something to work on, your mental health can obviously suffer. Classic methods of art have come back in fashion, whether it be crocheting, knitting, photography, or even a remote pottery course… the arts have done a full 360 and gone back to square one purely because we’re not able to go outside and explore at the moment. Now, the globe has the time, distracting yourself with the power of art can really help.
Why not dive into painting and abstract artist Dmitry’s work?
Dmitry’s emotional art explores his emotions and his work recreates his moods, this can be so cathartic to actually release your moods and feelings through creative painting at home. An artist that uses the creative arts as a free-spirited avenue to let his imagination run wild, Dmitry’s ‘Desire for Life’ piece is something we’re all needing in our lives — being able to step outside and explore.
Even if you’re watching tv shows such as The Great Pottery Throw Down or Rob and Romesh Vs— these series are there to give YOU the inspiration to have a go yourself, and are actually highlighting how we are loving all the different creative arts that we can call our own home crafts!
EVERYONE has something creative to bring to the globe, look at PhD Student Truman Cheng for example, he convinced Lego to produce ‘Van Gogh’s Starry Night’ as an Official Toy Kit — it seems the sky’s the limit for creative thinking,
Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. YOU are an individual that has so much to give to this world and of course yourself , mastering new crafts and skills that you can share and enjoy creatively, so now’s the time to do so.
