So since 1996 Quite Great brand pr agency having been helping innovators and entrepreneurs to promote their tech ideas , food brands, toys, charities and many more across all media areas from online to TV. The period spent prior to setting up Quite Great and after leaving major labels, was spent at a major ‘creative’ agency where I learnt a great deal about brands as we worked on everything from Lee Jeans to Tanqueray to Russell Athletic and many many more. I also learnt a great deal about working in an environment that was like hell on earth in my opinion due to the what would now be seen as archaic top down methods of interacting and ‘encouraging staff’. If a day had not gone by without someone I floods of tears……sometimes as I recall probably me …….it felt as it some would feel the day had missed one of it’s key working elements. Anyway, back to now, what it did teach me is when working with brands and focusing on big ideas, you know those EUREKA moments that make the whole campaign go viral , hit the headlines and get the word of mouth message on everyone’s lips, keep focused on what is possible and brand focused, not what seems like something that will win the business or impress the brand management as don’t forget it needs to be implemented. The best ideas also come from an uncluttered mind , one that isn’t being forced to think but is being relaxed into letting thoughts roll around and formulate.
