Who is Educating the Children?
Educating the Children (ETC) is a UK-based charity (registration number 1139741) that empowers young children in Africa through education and training and has a goal to train 350 women in 2021.
With nearly 100 women already trained and connected with further opportunities, ETC partners with corporate organisations to give hands-on training and development opportunities that result in genuine opportunities. Did you know that when women and girls earn income, they reinvest 90% of their earnings into their families? That’s almost triple what men reinvest into their families at 30%!
Why is it important to teach children education?
Why is early childhood education important? It’s important to educate children from an early age because this is the prime time where they learn to interact and show compassion with each other, their peers, their teachers, their parents, and their family. It’s the prime time for them to start developing their own personality, interests, and perhaps more importantly – their confidence. And ultimately, a confident child is one that will flourish in all aspects of life, both personally and professionally.
How has Quite Great helped Educating the Children?
ETC came on board as one of our charity marketing and PR clients, opting to use our charity campaign marketing services to develop awareness (and ultimately donations to their good cause) of their important message across local and national media.
Having worked with a number of different charities including Manchester Academy of Gymnastics and Childbirth Choices Matter to name a few, our team of PR experts knows the importance of developing the most appropriate charity marketing strategy. So, like our other clients, we knew that we could guarantee ETC coverage in national press publications to help their cause.
Working with the client, we established the best and most appropriate media, from radio stations such as BBC News Somerset to trusted national press publications such as The Independent, in which to share ETC’s important message. These publications were strategically chosen as the most appropriate, most trustworthy, and most relevant publications to promote the client’s charity.
Coverage in Yes Gurl magazine for young women, by young women
As the charity campaign is centered around female empowerment and educating young women, it was very important that ETC’s message was published in a publication that had a purely female demographic. In this case – Yes Gurl.
And why is this? This is for a number of reasons including familiar conventions, mode of casual address for example ‘friend’, personal identity, aspirational, emotional connection, giving girls a chance, and the pleasure of relaxing with a magazine which they can relax into.
Educating the Children’s coverage in national press publications
Established in 1986, The Independent is a national British newspaper. The last printed edition on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition which is printed in real-time. Nicknamed ‘the Indy’ the Independent began as a broadsheet newspaper before changing to tabloid format in 2003.
But what is the readership of the Independent? And how many readers does the Independent have? From April 2019 to March 2020, the Independent had a monthly audience of over 19.3 million people in the UK alone.
Fast forward a year and publishing ETC’s story in this prestigious publication was guaranteed to increase exposure far and wide from Cornwall to Cambridge, and Bristol to Bournemouth, the chance to raise awareness and encourage people to donate to this good cause was limitless.
