How does Quite Great help achieve charity PR?
One of our clients in the charity sector is Inner Vision Orchestra, a professional blind world music orchestra led by Baluji Shrivastav OBE, an Indian/British musician and instrumentalist. Baluji has worked with Stevie Wonder, Massive Attack, Annie Lennox, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, Boy George, and many others.
Quite Great won the charity PR campaign pitch by listening to and understanding the needs of the inspiring orchestra. It was their wish to raise their profile across the UK with PR exposure in key media areas on a national and regional level.
Throughout the campaign, our team created press releases that focused on the stories the charity wanted to relate, ensuring these were communicated to the right people in the right media areas. This wide and encompassing charity PR campaign included all opportunities across radio, online, and print, in both national and regional formats.
How does Quite Great create a successful charity PR campaign?
Here at Quite Great, we first understand our client and their goals by scheduling regular company chats, zooms, and meetings. It’s important for us to establish the passion of the charity as well as its patrons, trustee’s and volunteers. Appreciating the help the orchestra was providing blind musicians in the arts across the UK and beyond, the campaign reached out extensively to both regional and national PR. In doing so, we raised the profile of the orchestra and the message they wanted to share with the people they wanted to reach.
Who is Inner Vision Orchestra?
In 2008, Baluji founded his charitable foundation, the Baluji Music Foundation. As part of the foundation’s work, the Inner Vision Orchestra was launched in 2012 to address the barriers blind musicians face in the UK and find them more work. Not only is it a campaigning tool to raise awareness, but it also trains musicians to record; go on stage; go on tour, and encourages venues and promoters to hire blind musicians. The orchestra was recently described by radio 3 music matters as “joyously cross-cultural, stylistically boundless”. There are 20 musicians in the orchestra from all around the world and from all backgrounds, all religions and they play all kinds of music. The foundation is the only organisation in the UK trying to find work for blind musicians. Their aim is to raise the orchestra’s profile, spotlight blind talent, break down the barriers blind musicians face, promote positive attitudes towards blind people, and give a voice to blind people.
