Branding with any act is vital and having worked with Sandi Thom from ‘a punk rocker with flowers in her hair’ to the ‘rebel with a cause’, Sandi was once again set to upset the status quo with the release of this single, the controversial Revolution Anthem (Festival of the Oppressed). Quite Great’s press campaign for this new single was again met with enthusiasm and interest across the music media world with radio and media interviews, to name a few, from BBC Radio Scotland to news features from the London Evening Standard, Daily Record, Scottish Press & Journal to the Scottish Daily Express.

There are few artists who can compare themselves to the Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sandi Thom an artist who for many years has run in the face of traditional music trends. Quite Great are proud to have worked with Sandi Thom since first coming to prominence in the mid-noughties as one of the first artists to pioneer a streamed tour, performing broadcasts from her Tooting home. The online concerts made headlines at the time with Thom’s shows beginning with 60 viewers before exploding into an excess of 100,000, landing her a deal with RCA/Sony. The artist then released her 2006 single I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair) which topped the charts across the UK, Ireland, and remained at no.1 in Australia for 10 consecutive weeks. I wish I was a punk rocker stands at a whopping 70 million plays on Spotify.

Legendary Rock Star Alan Mair

Alan Mair, musician, songwriter, producer and perhaps best known as the bassist for the Only Ones and a member of Scotland’s 60s beat group the Beatstalkers. Having been in The Beatstalkers and working with the likes of Bowie, he is a true rock icon. Having been supported by the likes of U2, Simple Minds and supported The Who, The White Stripes and Primal Scream it is obvious Alan Mair is a force to be reckoned with. His involvement with Scottish band The Beatstalkers was instrumental in their ascension to being Scotland’s first ever pop stars.
