Manchester Academy of Gymnastics
Manchester Academy of Gymnastics (MAG) is a world-class gymnastics and boxing centre in Salford th
at provides paid and subsidized coaching for all with a focus for local and disadvantaged young people in our community.
MAG also provide classes in Boxing for children, women, general fitness and at a competitive level, delivered by local World Champion Boxer, Steve Foster Junior. Despite its impressive credentials, MAG is at risk of shutting for good, with rent arrears from enforced lockdown closures snapping at their heels.
Mike and Maxine, founders of the Manchester Academy of Gymnastics came to Quite Great after suffering from the effects of lockdown. Their aim for this 5-week or campaign was to raise awareness of the club’s plight and raise funds for the charity through. We decided to begin the campaign with the production of a short film. This film began the social media awareness of all involved, including interviews with the founders, gymnasts, teachers, and all involved. We were keen to point out the heartfelt passion of the team at the Manchester Academy and convey this honestly and professionally to the media. This resulted in some excellent feedback with interviews and features in all local and national media.
To date after a 5-week campaign, the Manchester Academy of Gymnastics appeared in the Manchester Evening News, Salford Now, About Manchester, Daily Mail, ITV Granada, Manchester That’s TV.
