Romany Mark Bruce – ‘The Sculptor Who Paints’

Attracting National & International Acclaim In The Art World

Romany Mark Bruce, Ireland born and Brighton based, is a highly accomplished sculptor and painter whose work has attracted both national and international acclaim and whose works are collected worldwide. Creator and designer of the striking ‘TAY’ sculpture, the Brighton and Hove AIDS Memorial, unveiled by David Furnish, which has now become an iconic landmark in Brighton.

Romany’s work continues to develop and evolve with changing times, embracing human form, nature and colour as key influences in his works. Having originally trained as a lawyer, specialising in brain injury and clinical negligence, this obsession with the brain, the body and how the muscles work has had a huge influence on Bruce’s figurative abstract impressionist pieces, both in art and sculpture. His latest works display his detailed focus with abstract expressionism as well as the powerful impact of colour in art. Painting with palette knives, Romany describes himself as, ‘a sculptor who paints.’ With a distinctive style and talent that has attracted art critics throughout the world, Romany’s artistic influence continues to develop with ongoing projects. His art was also chosen to feature across Paris for the Paris Metropolitan Exhibition. Early 2024 promises more exciting releases from Romany, including a painting to be auctioned for the Francesco Foundation and the publication of his art book, entitled ‘Sculpting Colour’.

Combining artistic design with practical use is always a great achievement, especially in these times when we need to think more economically in so many areas and our artistic home additions are a good place to start. We were excited to work with Tunetables, who epitomised this ethos. These tunetables are stylish pieces of furniture which can incorporate all forms of music collections and fit into your home as a piece of art in themselves. Art and furniture, of course are perfect companions, throw in the mix of functionality and we have classic everlasting designs, from Victorian metamorphic library steps to contemporary tunetables, the world of furniture and art has always been exciting. These Tunetables were exhibited in Beak Street, London gallery, where they blended perfectly and it was great to see art and form connect with these ever changing works of art.

GARY NICHOLLS Art Public Relations– STEAMPUNK FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHER & AUTHOR

Gary Nicholls is a unique steampunk fine art photographer and author who we’ve worked with for a number of years.

Our focus for Gary’s PR campaign was not only to highlight his incredible talent as a fine art photographer whose stunning images are produced in limited edition prints on metal but also to reveal his remarkable project ‘The Imaginarium’. This impressive trilogy is a Dickens-style tale and told in a series of 150 fine art images in a trilogy of limited edition books.

Working with such an exceptional artist was a very exciting project that required a strong Art Public Relations campaign. Straight thought out, one of the ideas to promote Gary’s work was to target specific areas in Shoreditch using the location as a street canvas for Gary’s work. For one night only Shoreditch became a gigantic backdrop for Gary to showcase his work.

Peter Deighan is widely regarded as one of the country’s finest Portrait, sporting painters, and wildlife painters. Born in Ireland and working in the UK, Peter predominantly works in the medium of oil paint. His subjects vary from portraits to sporting scenes and still life studies – plus an abundance of wildlife paintings from his many visits to Africa.

He held his first major exhibition in the Duke of Bedford’s stately home, Woburn Abbey. Among his earlier commissions were portraits of the comedian Eric Morecambe, Jimmy Greaves, Lewis Hamilton, speaker of the House of Commons Selwyn Lloyd, Cardinal Basil Hume Archbishop of Westminister (this portrait hangs in the Vatican).

Other notable portraits include author Frederick Forsyth, Lester Piggott, Steve Davis, and the first official portrait of Prime Minister John Major which now hangs in No. 10. Some of his more noteworthy Irish portraits were of Peadar O’Donnell, Sean McBride, Charles J. Haughey, and Michael O’Hehir which were unveiled on RTE’s Late Late Show in Dublin.

Pink Floyd founder member Syd Barrett

A classic example of some of the work conducted through Quite Great, relates to the auction of legendary Pink Floyd founder member Syd Barrett and his art. Following his untimely death and the vast array of media that covered the story, Quite Great worked to assist in events and exhibitions.

He was an art student also and had known Waters since their childhood back in Cambridge. Roger ‘Syd’ Barrett viewed himself primarily as a visual artist, and after his Pink Floyd days devoted most of his time to painting. After his last solo performances, Syd returned to his first love and spent the rest of his life painting and drawing at home in Cambridge.

The Quite Great team have also worked with the likes of Mick Rock on unique limited edition art.
